To be able to hike comfortably, without too much aches, it is best to get back in the saddle a few days before!   The equestrian level required is to know at least how to master a horse at 3 gaits (know how to trot up, gallop in suspension) and above all not to be afraid of the horse and spaces, to be comfortable. Our team will do everything for your safety and for you to be confident. It is essential to know how to "let go" and to be relaxed on horseback. Horses are sensitive animals, "emotional sponges". A stressed rider will tense his mount, which is not only unpleasant but also dangerous.

 

It is recommended to bring  :

 

  • His usual pharmacy

  • Immodium (or other medicines for indigestion and food poisoning)

  • Sunscreen, lip stick 

  • Possibly a sheepskin for English saddle (M) if you are sensitive on the saddle. There are also gel panties.

  • some t shirts

  • cotton underwear

  • a long-sleeved shirt against the sun

  • fleece sweater against the wind

  • two riding pants

  • high socks

  • a raincoat (you can never be too careful!)

  • Outfit for sleeping / for the evening 

  • 1 bathing outfit (swimsuit/bikini...)

  • hat or helmet (bumper) or cap or scarf and sunglasses

  • 1 water bottle (otherwise you will each be given 1 plastic bottle of 1.5L, to be filled) 

  • Bath towel that dries quickly. 

  • toilet stuff

  • Boots or sneakers (not too wide because of the stirrups) + riding gaiters (mini-shaps) to protect your calves.

  • Rest shoes (sandals/flip-flops..)

For bivouac hikes, you are also asked to bring  : 

​

  • sleeping bag 

  • electric flashlight 

  • wet wipes for days when access to water for washing is limited 

  • batteries to charge your cameras, cameras

  • Do not take a suitcase but rather a large travel bag (easier to carry in the pick-up)

Finally, come with your smile, joy and good mood! (essential and mandatory :-D)

Note that no personal insurance is included in your registration. It is therefore up to you to provide, if you wish, travel insurance (plane, repatriation, etc.). Horse riding insurance is compulsory.

During a trip to Morocco, it is important to find out about the identity papers and the formalities that are necessary to be able to enter Moroccan territory. Indeed, travelers will have to go through Moroccan customs before being able to fully enjoy their stay. If you have the right documents, this formality is quite quick. On the other hand, if the formalities for Morocco are not fulfilled, access to Moroccan territory may be refused. You might as well avoid this inconvenience and calmly prepare for your holidays!

FORMALITIES FOR MOROCCO: passport or identity card?

Since June 18, 2015, all foreign nationals must present a valid passport. If the end of validity is approaching, make sure that you still have 6 months left from the day of entry into Morocco. A simple identity card is not enough. Depending on your nationality, a visa may also be required. European nationals are exempt. They only need to present their passport. The customs officer will then apply a stamp with the date of entry into the country, the starting point of the 3-month tourist visa.

A small information sheet must also be provided to the customs officer. Some airlines distribute them during the flight, before landing. A certain amount of information is requested, in particular the place where travelers will be accommodated during their stay. Shortly before your departure, we will email you the address to register. It often happens that the customs officer asks for an oral confirmation at the place of accommodation. All requested information must be completed.

 
OTHER RECOMMENDED DOCUMENTS TO TAKE 

The passport is the only document required to enter Moroccan territory (as well as the visa for certain foreign nationals). There are no other formalities for Morocco ( pay attention to the new COVID formalities ). But, as with any trip abroad, it is generally advisable to bring other documents.

Thus, if you wish to rent a car on site, you will need to be in possession of your driving license. The French and Belgian license allow you to drive in Morocco during a tourist stay.

If you are traveling with children, it is recommended that you bring their health record and the family booklet (or at least a copy of it) with you.

If you have a mutual insurance covering medical costs abroad, do not forget your certificate in order to be able to benefit from the advantages of the latter in the event of illness or hospitalization on site.
